Banyan Community is seeking people who support the mission of the organization to develop youth, strengthen families, and create community in the Phillips neighborhood. We have been a community anchor in the neighborhood for nearly twenty-five years. We work together as an inclusive, asset-based community that values diversity and builds trusting relationships to realize our mission. Banyan was originally founded upon a Christian Community Development model, deepening its neighborhood roots and growing into a values based organization that welcomes persons of all spiritual and faith traditions to join its community and contribute to its transformative work.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Banyan Community seeks an accomplished, driven, strategic fundraising professional to lead its development efforts. Reporting to Banyan Community’s Executive Director, this individual will direct and strengthen the comprehensive fundraising program in support of Banyan Community’s mission and goals. In partnership with the development and communications team, they are responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding key institutional funders as well as individual prospects in concert with strategic priorities and needs while advancing culture of philanthropy within the organization.
The new Development Director is an outstanding listener, quick learner, excellent communicator, and natural relationship builder. They are enthusiastic about and a master at communicating Banyan Community’s vision.
They will promote Banyan Community’s Mission and Core Values and bring those values into the workplace, ensuring high morale, productivity, and efficiency by nurturing an environment supporting accountability and results. Moreover, they demonstrate regard for dignity and respect for others and promote and contribute positively to departmental and organizational relationships, consistent with Banyan Community’s approach to an anti-racist workplace and advancing equity and inclusion values.

COMPENSATION: $100,000 – $120,000, based on qualifications and experience
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Successful direction of multi-faceted organization fundraising efforts for at least 5 years.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE); experience in managing a team to realize goals
