The CAO plays an important role in our non-profit organization. As a member of the senior executive team, the CAO will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies to secure donors and contributions in support of the organization, provide oversight of fund and grant development programs, contribute to strategic planning, administer capital campaigns, and assuring development and maintenance of appropriate systems to fund development including donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing and recognition.

The CAO should be a competent fundraiser and an excellent advancement specialist in a non-profit organization or a similar environment. The individual is expected to translate broad goals into achievable steps, help set and manage appropriate expectations, handle detailed, complex concepts and problems, and plan and implement programs.

Comprehensive management skills and experience are required including short and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, oral and written communication skills, marketing and financial management, values clarification, organizational behavior and development, and governance. The position requires demonstrated experience in managing and implementing a comprehensive fund development program and producing charitable contributions. The individual is expected to be a highly competent enabler of staff. The individual is also expected to have demonstrated experience and confidence in asking people to contribute time and funding.

Wayside has three programs to help women break the cycle of addiction and trauma.

Wayside Women’s Treatment Center provides residential substance use disorder and mental health treatment services for women who face the greatest challenges of achieving long-term sobriety. Residential treatment includes addressing substance use and mental health disorders and wraparound services including housing, health, employment, and parenting.

Wayside Family Treatment Center maintains the family unit by welcoming women who are pregnant and mothers with children into treatment to prevent separation. We receive services for addiction, parenting, understanding how their alcohol or substance use contributes to Adverse Childhood Experiences, and improving their relationship skills to ultimately break the generational transmission of risk.

Wayside Wellness Outpatient Center provides outpatient, intensive outpatient, and preventative care of women. Our programming meets the needs of women at any stage of their journey.

Hybrid work arrangement. Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, day-time hours.
