Community Engagement Manager

Newly created to help address exciting opportunities identified in a recently completed strategic plan, the Community Engagement Manager position is a full-time position responsible for building and supporting a nationwide, volunteer-driven engagement program. As a member of the Advancement team, the manager works closely with existing and potential community volunteers to lead a successful and robust community engagement program.

This program will connect nationwide volunteers, as well as community partners and businesses, who are interested in supporting Little Free Library, its network of book-exchange boxes, and our programs in their communities. The manager is also responsible for proactively recruiting volunteers in key geographic areas, managing volunteer chapters, and actively supporting existing volunteers. This role will work closely with the Steward Services Coordinator to organize activities between existing library stewards and new community engagement volunteers.

Little Free Library (LFL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds community, inspires readers, and expands book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Libraries. LFL received the 2020 World Literacy Award as well as honors from the Library of Congress and National Book Foundation.

There are more than 150,000 registered Little Free Library book-sharing boxes worldwide in all 50 states, 115 countries, and seven continents; through them, more than 250 million books have been shared. LFL grants little libraries full of books to underserved areas through its Impact Library Program and champions diverse books through its Read in Color program.
