Founded in 1973, 180 Degrees operates emergency shelters, supportive housing programs, and community-based services for youth and adults experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking, and incarceration. Serving over 1500 clients each year, our programs provide safety, promote healing, and empower people to realize their greatest potential. 180 Degrees has doubled in size in the past four years. We’re adding “bench strength” to our Development Team in response to ongoing growth. Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded, Development generalist who brings a broad set of skills in communications, marketing, fundraising, technology, and data.
Primary responsibility is developing and executing strategies and plans to retain and grow a segment of our donor base. You will report on and assess donor metrics and then develop plans to welcome and thank donors, inform them about 180 Degrees’ programs and client success stories, and promote donor engagement opportunities.
This is a hybrid role. Our team works remotely with regular meetings in our offices in downtown Minneapolis or East St. Paul.
Specific responsibilities include:
Tracking donor metrics in SalesForce to guide and inform strategies
Calling and emailing a small, targeted portfolio of donors with updates
Planning and executing donor communications including emails and quarterly e-newsletters, website updates, blog posts, agency powerpoints, and annual reports
Planning and executing digital fundraising campaigns including Give to the Max, Holiday Appeal, and Year-End Appeal.
Collaborate as a member of the Advancement team and provide support as needed for major events (annual gala, golf outing, donor events)
Build relationships with program teams across the organization and at program sites as needed
Required Skills
2-5 years of fundraising experience or marketing skills that translate to the non-profit sector
Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interfacing with donors on phone, email, or in-person at events; personal and effective communicator
Strategic thinker, able to assess landscape, use data to inform and develop plans
Strong writing skills; able to write short, compelling content for e-newsletters, emails, web, social media, and print
Creative thinker able to collaborate with team members to develop campaign themes and storylines
Digital Native. The ideal candidate will be intuitive in the digital space and can navigate or learn to navigate on our website (wordpress), database (salesforce), and donor management systems (donorbox, eventbrite); You are comfortable using Microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint); a plus if you can advance use of new tools (Chat GPT, slack, googledrive).
