JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Programs is a key management position that assists the Executive Director and leadership team in the development and execution of contracted and non-contracted programs, policies, and procedures for the organization. The Director of Programs supervises program staff to ensure the PWCC’s programmatic work is carried out in a manner consistent with mission and values of the organization. This position works with the Executive Director to ensure that the program staff are integrated into development efforts and fundraising opportunities including the preparation, submission, and reporting of grant applications as well as communication and site visits with funders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the operations and programs of the Federal, State, and County funded programs.
Develop and maintain a knowledge in program service areas sufficient to provide front line support to program staff when necessary.
Manage the reporting process of all programs to relevant funders and stakeholders.
Ensure staff maintain current knowledge, understanding and implementation best practices for programs.
Identify opportunities for new programs and partnerships in line with the mission of the organization.
Create annual work plans and accountability structures for program and development staff.
Support the development of new funding opportunities.
Collaborate with Leadership team to fulfill programmatic responsibilities.
Strategize on new program opportunities including brainstorming, development and implementation.
Manage Team performance, including all hiring and termination processes.
Collaborate with HR Team on team’s professional development needs.
Develop job descriptions and expectations for team members.
Assist in the development of board materials and agendas.
Attend periodic board and committee meetings.
Assist in the identification, recruitment, and onboarding of board members.
Provide program updates to board members as requested by the Executive Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development and Programming, and/or Nonprofit Management, or related field, preferred
Five or more years of executive managerial experience in a similar-sized organization with community organizing experience or comparable work experience.
Three to five years of experience developing and managing complex budgets.
Three to five years of experience supervising teams consisting of employees with varying skill levels.
Two to five years of experience providing direct service to participants in youth development, adult enrichment, trauma informed services, or a closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to obtain funding from foundations, corporate, individual, and government sources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; computer proficiency a must.
Ability to establish clear goals, expectations and protocols for organizational fund development and management.
Knowledge of project design, development, implementation, evaluation, grant writing and budget development.
Skilled in group process and facilitation of effective meetings.
Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented.
Ability to resolve conflicts in a healthy, constructive manner.
Proficiency in Word and Excel, and the ability to learn other technology programs quickly.
Knowledge of database software preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet The Family Partnership’s driving record requirements.
