Intern, Digital Marketing – Podcast:
The National Marketing division at American Public Media is seeking an individual who has hands-on digital marketing experience to help us serve our audiences (current and new) in a stronger and more versatile way. Are YOU that person? If so, you will have an opportunity to help live our mission by helping our podcasts tell stories that move us. You’ll have an opportunity to work alongside podcast marketing, content teams and audience insights with a focus on reaching our audience across the digital ecosystem with engaging content.
Key Learning Goals:
- Applying audience insights and analytics data to targeted paid social media and search campaigns.
- Learning how podcast audiences interact differently based on each digital platform.
- Translating brand and marketing goals into executable paid campaigns.
- Learning to translate data to optimize campaigns and develop key learnings for future.
- Learning to clearly communicate key learnings and recommendations to cross-functional leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Research best practices on paid digital platforms, emphasis on paid social, podcast media and search, in order to make strategy recommendations
- Manage paid social and search campaigns including strategy, execution, and optimization
- Work closely with content and marketing teams to integrate paid digital tactics into cohesive marketing plans for podcasts
- Collaborating with Creative Services and sourcing still and motion assets for usage in digital campaigns

Programming:
- Participate in robust on-boarding experience

Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled Senior in an undergraduate or graduate program OR have earned a degree within the last 12 months
- Strong working knowledge of managing brand accounts on social media platforms
- Experience developing marketing campaigns for brands
- Experience with interpreting digital analytics
- Self-starter with an interest in news-driven storytelling and journalism.
- Strong organizational and communication skills including written and verbal.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience with digital media a plus
- Working knowledge of native social media analytics and Facebook Business
- Experience working with Google Search
